Obama believes he can’t be wrong

By Herman Cain

President Obama says very strange things, especially for a guy who presumably wants very badly to be re-elected. As if it wasn’t enough that he last week went off on small business owners for having pride in their accomplishments, this week he actually told a rally audience in reference to the economy – with a straight face – “We tried our plan, and it worked.”

It almost seems gratuitous to start citing all the numbers that obliterate this claim – the 8.2 percent unemployment, the anemic 1.5 percent GDP growth this past quarter, the soaring federal deficit that will top $1 trillion yet again this year. It’s like when the head coach of a 1-15 NFL team tries to make the case that his team is really good. Why sit there and debate him? You just nod your head and think to yourself, “Whatever you say, Coach.” Continue reading

15.2 TRILLION and there ain’t no stopping us now

January 9, 2012 was a historic day in America.  It came and went without much notice in the press or by the millions of Americans affected.  Without Congressional approval, without a vote, without a whimper, the debt limit was automatically raised and the national debt became a record 15.2 trillion dollars.

The new debt number exceeds the total Gross Domestic Product of the entire nation,* which was $15.176 trillion in 2011.  As Americans we should be outraged.  We should recall and impeach all our elected officials who silently approved.  But will we?

No.  Most Americans don’t even realize the danger.  Most won’t care until collapse is imminent.  Then just like in Greece, riots will erupt and people will be confused wondering why they never saw this coming.  I’ve been predicting this since 2004 and writing about it here since 2008.  People smarter than me have as well, but no one listens.

Would you like some fries with that?

Some with shallow understandings of macro economics argue, “it’s a harmless debt, we owe it to ourselves.”  That’s like walking across the Sahara without water and saying, “But it’s a dry heat.”  Nor is it unlike a 900 pound man claiming the extra 1300 calories in the Monster Thickburger won’t make a difference in his 20,000 calorie per day diet.  In both examples the result is the same. Bankruptcy looms and Congress doesn’t believe it.

‘t

We have morons running the country whether you believe it or not.  Democrats think they can spend our way out of collapse, while Republicans think they can cut enough waste without addressing the real problems in the budget.  Compromise is in the air and unfortunately that won’t produce a workable long-term solution.

I wonder how many families compromised their household budgets into bankruptcy in the past 3 years?  If you can’t afford a Mercedes you don’t cut HBO from the cable bill and expect now you can.You have to buy a cheaper car.  That’s my short opinion on the budget crisis.

Meanwhile idiots on the left have already begun fear-mongering while accusing the right of the same thing.  I told you Obamacare would be defended by cries of Republicans trying to kill babies and rob the poor.  Oh well, in 2008 I predicted Federal default would come in 2017.  So far we appear to be on-course.  I bet the Alinsky-crowd is giddy.  But, you know they are biting their collective nails wondering if they can lock it in before they lose the White House and the Senate.

So expect the fear-mongering and accusations of racism to be cranked to 11.

I now reprint a letter I received from Erick Erickson last night:

Dear Fellow Conservative,
Our nation is facing bankruptcy, yet liberals in Washington keep
spending.

Some liberals are actually talking about a new stimulus, while
even some self-described conservatives balk at spending cuts.

We now stand at a tipping point, facing financial catastrophe.
We, our children, and our grandchildren will pay the price for
this failure of leadership.

Conservatives must speak out, because we are running out of time
to get Washington's attention and put America back on the
right course. Since you're a RedState conservative, I know you
understand this. You know the importance of changing the
game in Washington.
That's why I urge you to watch my video about spending cuts.
I've recorded a short video that explains more and gives you a
way to let Congress know you want them to step up and stop
the spending. Let your voice be heard!
There's no better way for you to fight back and advance the
conservative ideas that are the only solution to what ails America.
Our country is running out of time. But if we act today, I believe
we can overcome this crisis and restore America to greatness.
Please watch now.
Let’s go!

The Debt Bomb

Aug. 2008, Obama accepts his party's nomination

When Barack Obama gave his 2008 Democratic nomination acceptance speech surrounded in a Greek Temple motif, no one could have seen the prophetic imagery these props provided, America imitating Greece.

Even as Obama was playing Adonis before a swooning American electorate and tingly media pundits, the government and the people of Greece were in final preparation for economic implosion.

Climbing Mount Olympus (Background info)

Greece was borrowing money faster than it could repay.  It had socialized everything.  It’s unions dominated its government and its industry pushing the cost of labor to ridiculous.  Greek fiscal trickery that maintained low-interest rates was becoming increasingly difficult to preserve.  Greeks had become entitled and their government was about to discover the true meaning of the word unsustainable.

Back in America, no sooner did Barack Obama take the oath of office, than he put the financial accelerator of the US Treasury to the floor.   Continue reading

Surprise, Surprise. . .The universal laws of economics are still alive!

I know it’s been a while since I last wrote to you, but at some point, I felt as though I had made my case and the need for a daily chronicle of how we were doing everything wrong was draining on me and pointless for you. I write today to add fuel to a growing fire. As elections loom and the country seems to have had enough with the depressed economic situation we find ourselves in, it’s time to compare our plight with those who have taken a different course.

Last year I wrote an article about the enormous amount of government programs the new administration was passing through. They were spending like there was no tomorrow, telling us all the while that government was the only one who could get us out of this mess. The private sector had tried and failed. The article was “That’s Great, but what do you do for an encore.” Feel free to take time to read it now if you like. . .I’ll wait. . .OK, done? I liked to turn your attention to the massive THROW DOWN I issued to Germany and Hungary. While we are spending like crazy, those two countries decided to cut taxes. Not much mind you. But cut they did. I told Germany and Hungary IT. . .IS. . .ON!!! Let’s see if spending beats cutting. . .you know. . .for like. . .the first time. . .EVER! Come on America, we can do it this time!

A year has passed and let’s check the report card. Continue reading

Fast Food is evil

Yummy, isn't it?

Tasty yes, but healthy?

When you think, “fast food” what’s the first thing that comes to mind?  It probably wasn’t the word, “healthy”. More likely, it was fried foods, fat, junk, sugar, or unhealthy. When academia, media elite, and politicians demonize fast food, we quietly nod in agreement.

Admit it, you know it’s not a healthy dining choice, but when you’re on the road, in a hurry, or short on cash, you find yourself waiting in the drive-thru.

Penn and Teller recently tackled this topic on their show, Bulls**t! I watched the episode last night and it forced me to think about a topic I had not previously given much brain-time.

(The entire episode is provided at the end of this article.) Continue reading

So what’s so wrong with the Left?

This might give a clue.

Massachusetts may be one of the most liberal states in the U.S. today. Some would argue for California and they might be right, but most would agree Massachusetts ranks right up there at or near the most liberal.

So it really is no surprise that a school board in Massachusetts unanimously votes to offer free condoms to all students in the district without parental consent, sparking national outrage.

If that weren’t outrage enough, and to show there are other states vying for that number 1 slot of “Most Liberal”, the Fayetteville, Ark., Gay Pride Parade will be led by a young man who has made a career out of fighting for gay rights. That young man is 10 years old.

So what’s so wrong with the left, anyway?

Plenty, and the above events show how sick they’ve become.
